I AM the bread of life Initiative
John 6:35 → “Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”
After feeding more than 5,000+ people in the desert, Jesus began teaching people that the miracles he had done were simply signs and shadows that pointed to a greater revelation, that he is the real manna/bread that came from heaven to sustain all of them. I went through many hard times in my life where food was scarce. However, God always sustained me and provided for me along the way through people who listened to his voice and offered to help. We aim to illuminate the truth that Jesus is the living bread that fills and satisfies our life by helping those in need of actual food. Join us as we join God in blessing those in need of food. The I AM the Light of the World Scholarship
John 8:12 → “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
In the midst of the Temple where countless lamps brightened the entire city, Jesus declared and still declares to all that he is not the light of the city, but of the World. He is a light that offers what no other light can - life, that is if we follow him. As God brought me out of spiritual darkness and into his marvelous gospel light, he not only revealed to me a new life in him but also revealed that since I am in him and he is in me, I am a light in this dark world as well. We aim to illuminate the truth that the life that comes from following the light, Jesus, is better and stronger than the darkness that this world brings by providing book scholarships to graduating African American seniors who are heading to college and already being the light in their community. As someone who had to drop out of and return back to both high school and college, I have learned how important learning and education can be for a person’s growth and understanding. It sheds light on the world around you, makes more opportunities available, and allows you to pursue a different life where you can be a light to others. This scholarship fund is also done in collaboration with Philanthropy LLC via Turning Point CDC! Pictures will be in the gallery!
I AM the Door/Gate Initiative
John 10:7-10→ , “So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door/gate. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly..”
After healing a blind man in the midst of hypocrites, Jesus declares to them that he is the door that brings true access to the Kingdom for his people/his sheep. To those sheep who choose to acknowledge and enter through him, they will not only be safe but will be led to green pastures. As God brought me into his Kingdom, he began teaching me that not only is he/Jesus the Word, but that the Word is the Door, and by learning how to practically and honestly walk with him (his Spirit) and process things through him, in addition to true rest, I can have access to abundant pastures of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:7). By entering in and out of his revealed Word which is “living and active and sharp sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12), I began to flow and minister in parts of the Kingdom (Faith, Healing, etc.) and have access to parts of me (unprocessed emotions, new gifts, fruit of the spirit, etc.) that everyone else (even me) was too blind to see. I was the blind man. We aim to illuminate the truth that Jesus is the Door to the Kingdom, to abundant life, to true rest, and to you by teaching his Word, flowing in the Spirit, and using the art of spoken word to help others access that same door. I AM the Good Shepherd Initiative
John 10:11-16 → , “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.”
In the same vein as the previous scripture regarding him being the true door, Jesus declares to all - both people and those who claim to be shepherds but are not truly invested in the sheep - that he is the Good Shepherd. He proves that he is the good shepherd by indicating how quickly those who claim to lead will run when sacrifice comes and how he will prove his goodness by laying his life down for the sheep, in front of the sheep, thereby showing them his love and giving them a good example regarding what it means to be a living sacrifice unto God for his people. God has hand selected and used a few people in my life to help mentor, guide, cover, correct, and disciple me, i.e. being good shepherds, and allowed me to grow by watching and joining them as they sacrificially served with their life. We aim to illuminate the truth that Jesus is the good shepherd who demonstrates his love by giving his life (through sacrificial service) for his own through mentoring/discipleship with selected youth (both high school and college) where we do life on life with them through relationship. For them to “follow us as we follow Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1)” and understand that the best leaders for people are the most surrendered servants of God, they must first know our stories and experiences, see servant leadership in our lives and then inside them, develop an ear for the Shepherd's voice, and discover where and how he wants them to serve, function and live as a living sacrifice. Join us as we join God in blessing the selected youth. If you are interested in finding out more information, recommending or signing a young person up, please email us below. I AM the Resurrection & Life Initiative
John 11:25-26 → “Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
With tears, Martha questions Jesus’s timing regarding her brother, Lazarus, sad death. She lets him know that she knows about the resurrection, where all will be raised up by God, as a time and a season in the future, but he lets her know that eternal life is not a time and a season to come, but a present person - him. He proceeded to not only raise Lazarus from the dead but restore him to live a better life by ordering that he be loosed from his grave (conditioned) clothes and that people let him go. Jesus not only gave Lazarus but Mary, Martha and all of us a second chance at believing and receiving eternal life right now by raising us up (with him) and restoring our lives. I have been in situations that seemed hopeless and have been covered with the graves clothes of society, yet God has used specific people to pour life into my life by word and deed by restoring me in areas that he has first raised me from. These areas differ for different people, but they can be as simple as providing new clothes and an opportunity for those who have suffered and been cast off. We aim to illuminate the truth that Jesus is life itself and despite the conditions, he can make all things in our life (including us) rise again by restoring those in destitute situations so they can do what God has called them to do by helping to supply them with basic needs. I AM the Way truth and life Initiative
John 14:6-7 → “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
After telling his disciples that he would be leaving them via the cross to prepare a place for them and return for them so they can be with him, they ask him the way to where he is going. He responds by letting them know that the true way to eternal life and to his Father is in and through him. He is not a man-made way, but a God-given way, and knowing him makes all the difference in our lives no matter where we are. As 'The way', he can literally make a way out of no way. Our society is full of many paths that lead to hopeless situations both internally and externally. Because of this, many people tend to create their own way or cling to the world’s ways because they believe nothing or no one can reach them. Many are in a prison with no walls and are searching for a way, a truth, and a life embodied in someone who is like them but greater. We aim to illuminate the truth that Jesus is the way, truth, and life in every life by not only preaching the Gospel in traditional and non-traditional contexts but also providing Bibles as well. As technology grows, the good news and hope found in Jesus must still be heard and read. Join us as we join God in blessing others. I AM the True Vine and You are the Branch International Arm
John 15:5 → , “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, it is he that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
Jesus takes his disciples up and expresses his love for and obedience to the Father, He lets them know the role that his Father, himself, and the true followers play through a gardening parable. His Father is the vine dresser, he is the vine, we are the branches, and we must stay connected to him because that is the only way we will produce fruit - the goal. The branch is only fruitful if it is connected to the vine. If it/we are connected, we can be fruitful and beneficial to those whom he has intended to eat from our lives. God has planted me in many dark places and allowed fruit to come forth from me. Just as people said about Jesus’s hometown in John 1:46, people still say about where many of us are planted and grow up - Nathanael asked, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” However, I love how Philip replied, “Come and see.” That is my reply as well. Why? No matter where I am planted, I am connected to the vine and my goal is to be fruitful and extend the blessings to the areas that have both helped cultivate me as I stayed connected to God and that need to see that good can come out of their land if they are connected. We aim to illuminate the truth that staying connected to Jesus will always yield fruit in your life and the lives of others. This is the national and international arm of MFBI where the previous six initiatives flow and branch out. We are fruit producers, so we desire to produce fruit that produces after its kind, especially in areas where there is good soil. When good seed (which is already in the fruit) meets good and ready soil, you will always see an change. Our first branch was back to my home country, Nigeria, to sow seeds where there is a need. The second branch was in El Tiyaba, Egypt. Join us as we join God in blessing others. If you are interested in finding out more information, donating, or staying up to date with locations and people we branch out to, please email us below. Pictures will be in the gallery.
